Veronicah describes what she has learned from participating at the Women Like Us Center in Nakuru, Kenya.
My name is Veronicah Njeri.
I joined the centre in February. I dint know anything about machines but now I have learnt. I can make clothes skirts, and even bags.
I thank my trainers, Liz, she helped me a lot, I dint even knew how to put the string in the needle hole but now I know. Our leaders Edwin and Jacky have advised us wisely and they have taught us a lot, including how to solve our problems, am happy to be at the centre.
I am completing my sewing training next month and I have a promise to work as a domestic helper in the home of Mrs. Norendo. It is because of my development of self-esteem through the help of Jacky our leader and the fact that I have learned how to use a needle, mend clothing and even make blouses and skirts that I am able to get this job.
My daughter will go to the training next year and she and I will be able to rent a home together to raise her children and my grandchildren.
For the first time I feel happy about my future.

July 18, 2019 at 3:41 pmHi I’ts Linda of the Women Like Us Foundation. We’ve learned that not only are we helping women in Kenya with our center for education, but by coming together and gathering as women, day to day life problems are getting solved, too. I met Veronicah on our latest trip. She is full of love and shows up everday to improve her life and that of her families!
