Excitement occurs at the Women Like Us Center in Nakuru, Kenya, as teachers and directors, including the women and teen girls, are thrilled to graduate with sewing skills, computer skills, hairdressing, and farming. It was a successful graduation that was attended by several organizations and government representatives, too.

In attendance for graduation were 15 young mothers ages 14-22 years old and 50 women at the center, 90% who are victims of domestic abuse.

Those who graduate receive a certificate, are ready to earn a wage and are on their way to economic stability. They work at local grocery stores and the Women Like Us Center, where they can be employed to make children’s uniforms, make draperies for individuals, and even set up Cyber Cafés where people in the community can access a computer and offer to print.
